Last month, the Bellagio poker room was robbed in broad daylight and the individual involved remains at larger. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department recently reported that no arrests have been made and the person involved remains on the run.

On the 28th of November, a white male entered the Bellagio poker room around 3:45 pm and approached the poker room cashier cage. The individual showed the cashier a handgun and demanded money. The staff complied, and the incident actually took place during a poker tournament with no one on site the wiser. The amount of cash taken has yet to be revealed.

The robber left the scene in a 2011 Chevrolet sedan, which was later recovered by police. The vehicle had a license plate, but police have yet to state if the plate provided any leads in the case. The man appeared to have long hair in the casino security footage, but it appears he was wearing a wig. The suspect appears to be 30 to 40 years of age and would be 5’7 to 5’9 and 160 to 170 pounds in size.

The casino staff were applauded for their behavior during the incident as the situation could have been extremely dangerous if they had acted otherwise. Actor James Woods was at the casino during the robbery and while he did not see the robbery take place, he pointed out the cool behavior of the casino staff during the incident.

The situation could have been far worse, considering the robber was carrying a gun. Customers as well as staff members could have been hurt if the situation had been handled differently. The Bellagio is currently working with police as they investigate the crime and hopefully tips or more information will be brought to light so the individual can be apprehended.
